Aruma Coffe Lounge

I am no fan of coffee. Over the years, and up to date, I only had coffee twice. The first time I had is during my childhood when I visited my Uncle's house one early morning. The second time around was during my college days. Obviously, I am no fan of coffee shops---but it doesn't mean I don't visit. I visit coffee shops not for coffee---well, everyone knew its not the only thing found in coffee shops---is it?   I knew Aruma Coffee Lounge, since I came back from Cebu after I went there upon graduating Political Science in MSU-IIT. I even visited the place three times if I am not mistaken. Being not interested to coffee, the place does not appeal to me so much. Not until we organize the Mindanao Bloggers Summit 2011 and they became one of our sponsors. I've heard a lot of good stories from friends about the food that they serve, but I reserved the right to spread the story until I experienced it. During the second night of the event, before the David DiMuzio's fever, participants of the Summit was divided into two groups. One group set to experience dining at Aruma, and one group to the other sponsor. I really volunteered to be one of the Aruma group---for some reasons, and that is to experience and prove what other people like Pinay Travelista are telling about the place. Another, is that---I am hungry and I really want to eat something that will really satisfy my tummy.  Earlier that day, we had a tour with the participants of the summit. So I was really keen on eating a lot and anything will really do just to satisfy my cravings for food, despite the fact that I have been watching my diet by choosing the kind of food that I eat. I had tummy problems the past two years due to improper eating habits that resulted to "ulcer." So I don't just eat any kind of food and I always see to it that I  eat at the right time.

I was tasked to fetch Miss Anna Oposa at Rene's Diner, who served as our speaker during the Mindanao Bloggers Summit the day before, as she is one of those who are to dine at Aruma. Shy as I am, I am so glad that Pinay Travelista was with me, because without her I might have melted like butter.
Anyway, we went to Aruma despite the rainy evening. When we arrived, some of the member of the group were there already. Pinay Travels  came earlier before us. When we arrived, we were given the menu. I got to excited that everything I saw in the menu looks palatable, but I want to eat something that will really satisfy my tummy. So I asked what is in the menu that has rice. I could never live without eating it.

"Aruma's Chicken Curry"

The waiter told me that their chicken curry is good. Hearing it is like hearing a bell from St. Michael's Cathedral. Curry is one of my "to die for dishes." The other one is "sinigang." Without a second thought, I ordered one serving...It has been two years without having a taste of those recipes. Lately, I've been eating like a goat with all those green leafy veges on my diet. I don't want to sound complaining, because I love veges, but eating them almost every meal is really boring and that would be too much, if I am going to eat them while dining outside home.

Its Me with David DiMuzio

Before we had the dinner, we waited for the rest of the people. When everyone is complete, the food were ready at the same time. After taking photos, we started eating our own preferred orders. My God, it was heaven. After years of missing "curry" at last, I found a place where I can have it. The chicken curry at Aruma Coffe Lounge really made my night with ecstasy. I had enough energy for David DiMuzio that night...
After being satisfied with their "chicken curry," Pinay Travelista asked us what dessert we would like to have and I asked for a piece of "Banoffe Pie.

I believe Banofee Pie, stands for Banana and Coffee and it is really delicious! I don't like describing it for you. I want you to experience it yourself and describe it for me  and the other readers :)
So when you are able to visit Aruma and had a taste of Banofee Pie, come back and describe it by commenting. I will wait for you!
