Image of the Day : Noses

Posted on the 27 November 2017 by Belinda Mccarthy @b_mccarthyphoto

For today's Image of the Day, we're revisiting that special time of the evening at any wedding day - the first dance. If you read this blog often, you'll remember me talking about how it's important - if you can - to forget that your wedding guests are watching you dance and just enjoy the moment, for you'll only get one first dance at your wedding! And here, at this lovely wedding reception in Durweston, Dorset, the bride and groom did exactly that.... they danced and were utterly, totally lost in each other, the moment, and their love for one another. It's a wedding photographer's dream moment!

I absolutely loved photographing the wedding for this young couple, who held their wedding ceremony in church at Shillingstone before moving on to their wedding celebrations in Durweston, because their love and affection for one another was always so very obvious to see. Not only that, but they patently had a very strong and loving relationship with their families, too, which meant that their wedding photographs are chock full of tender moments with their parents, siblings and wider family. Isn't that what a wedding day is all about? Having those you love around you to witness you pledging your love to each other, and then celebrating that love with the people who mean the most to you? I truly believe this to be the case. And yes, of course, everyone wants to have a beautiful wedding day (and this one was truly glorious!).... but remember, it's just one day. A marriage, and a family, is forever. So enjoy that beautiful day, enjoy the lovely decor and the gorgeous surroundings and wearing the wonderful clothes that all help make that day as magical and memorable as possible. But even more importantly than that, enjoy making a life together and looking forward to what's to come... just like I know this lovely young couple will be. Sermon over!
