Improving My Nightly Routine with The Restored
Posted on the 23 September 2019 by Sparklesandstretchmarks @raine_fairy*Ad - This post is written in conjunction with The Restored
Over the past few months, I've been making a conscious effort to take steps to improve my overall health and wellbeing. You may recall that a few months back, I took The Restored's Health Quiz to find out what areas of my overall health I should focus on improving and to get some insight on how best to do that
After being diagnosed with further chronic illnesses earlier this year, it's important that now more than ever I ensure that I'm doing whatever I can to take care of my body and help it out a little where it's struggling.
My results with The Restored showed that the main area that needed improvement was my sleep - this came as no surprise to me, having suffered on and off with insomnia for my entire adult life (and probably before then in all honesty).
It was recommended that I start using their Advanced Sleep Aid supplement which contains essential nutrients to help aid better sleep.
I've been taking one tablet daily for the last two weeks, along with making some other changes to my evening routine which I'll talk more about shortly, and I'm pleased with the result.
Although I do still struggle to stay asleep and I still don't get as much sleep as I should, I have found that when I wake in the night - I'm managing to remain in that calm sleepy state and get back to sleep pretty much immediately, whereas previously I'd always struggle.
I'm also finding that I wake up more feeling more rested than usual, too.
The Restored's Advanced Night Time Nutrients contains 9 essential nutrients needed for sleep (which many people are deficient in) including: 5HTP, Tryptophan and Magnesium.
The supplements are 100% Natural, Vegan, Gluten-Free, and GMO-Free too so they're suitable for most people to take. And based on a survey of 127 customers: 97% of people said they slept better , with 82% waking up less at night and 76% feeling that they were able to fall asleep faster.
The great thing is that, unlike many traditional sleeping tablets, the supplements don't make you drowsy either - which is obviously something that's of real importance to me, having 3 children to look after.
As well as the product, The Restored also provide a very informative sleep course for you to take online too - and this is available for free!
I found the course really beneficial and educational, and thought it was really refreshing that this is offered alongside a supplement - as we all know that there's no such thing as a magic pill to immediately cure all issues and it's going to work some effort too!
Alongside the Advanced Night Time Nutrients supplements, I have introduced some subtle little changes to my nightly routine to try to aid sleep.
These include the addition of a salt lamp to my nightstand - previously I slept in total darkness but would often find it difficult to drop off and I'd find myself waking up mid-sleep feeling panicked and anxious. The addition of the gentle glow of the salt lamp seems to help lull me into a gentle sleep, and I also find myself feeling calm when I wake in the night too - perhaps because I'm able to see familiar surroundings.
I've also started to do a 5 minute meditation and some journalling before bed too, in an effort to calm my mind and cleanse myself of unwanted thoughts and "brain busy-ness!".
And, finally, I've stopped using screens in the evening after 8.30 pm too - instead choosing to read of an evening to unwind.
Overall I'm really pleased with how this trial has gone, and I'll continue to use the supplements and the changes I've implemented to my routine.
Have you had difficulty sleeping? What has worked for you? I'd love to hear your thoughts!
