Over this Holiday Season I absolutely fell in love with the Diptyque candles. And more specifically the Orange Chai scented candle from the Diptyque 2013 Holiday Collection. I must admit that this is only my second Diptyque candle, but I have a feeling that I have just started my love affair with these lovely scented candles. The Orange Chai candle from the Holiday Collection is quite colorful compared to the ‘regular’ white Diptyque candles. Maybe that’s why I am completely in love with it. Is it healthy to love a candle this much?
The 2013 Holiday Collection was a collaboration with the French design duo Tsé & Tsé. It was inspired by the festival of lights. All the three festive Diptyque candles have jewel-toned glass with the Diptyque motif in gold. The shiny golden orange glass candle is absolutely gorgeous. I cannot stop admiring it, but then again I am always drawn to anything shiny, sparking or bright. All those three together is just too much and it’s impossible for me to turn away. Plus the golden glow glams up my nightstand nicely.
The Orange Chai’s scent is just divine. The Orange Chai candle has notes of orange, quince and Indian spices. The orange scent, which is the strongest scent in this candle, is strong but at the same time just mellow enough so you don’t get a headache from it. It’s warm and not sharp. It makes me think of warm orange cake just out of the oven. Lovely!
The golden orange glass makes the candle look so festive even though I will be using this a long, long time after the Holiday Season is over. It just so pretty and shiny. My precious… Simply divine!
