I seriously can’t say enough about how funny I think Paige is. I have been a fan, ok more like a stalker, of her writing for quite a while now and I must admit that it was a thrill to have her participate in this series. She’s the real deal folks – funny, smart, great writer, and just the right amount of sarcasm to keep me around reading. Plus, she’s written a damn funny book with the world’s best title – At Least My Belly Hides My Cankles
With that said, let the questions begin!
If you had to sum up your blog in two sentences, what would you say?
Most people recognize it as a desperate cry for help from a wife and mother of three kids under three. I prefer to think of it as an alternative to drinking before 5pm.
What thing did you do today as a parent you wish you could take back and do over?
Letting the twins drink juice out of the good water glasses, instead of sippy cups. Survey says that was as far from a solid choice as possible.
What thing did you do today that you are happiest about?
I didn’t try to barter the leftover Christmas ham to pay the cable bill. Writing a cashable check felt positive
What is your least favorite activity to do with your children?
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are always a chore, but I find any time we’ve attempted translating ancient Latin text to English, it’s a bit trying. To be fair, most people find that frustrating though.
What is your most favorite activity to do with your children?
Tucking them all into bed. Joking. Sort of. I also love watching movies with them they haven’t seen before. It gives me an excuse to watch Toy Story, eight times in a row, without being judged.
When your child drives you absolutely crazy and you want to scream a curse word, which word do you wish you could say?
I think an acronym can be pulled beautifully from “Fed Up Crunchy Kindles”.
What’s your favorite lie you have ever told your child?
The twins are two-and-a-half, so everything I say is taken at face value. That’s why some toys have to “sleep” downstairs instead of in bed. Because, if I hear one more talking, stuffed thing sing to me at 2am from the other room, I’ll be up a bottle of gin a week.
At what moment did you realize that you really were grown up?
When these people who look like me started calling me “mom” and refused to go halves on the utilities.
