I love books. I am obsessed with reading. I hope that until my last breath, I am busy trying to finish at least three books.
Yes - I read at least three at a time. Gives me such a wonderful high. Nothing feels greater than getting hold of a book I've wanted to read for a long time or being recommended a fabulous book by a friend I trust. I consider myself lucky to have cultivated the habit of reading at a young age. Also fortunate that during my childhood, books were my main source of entertainment.
We had a vast library at home with books of different genres. My Grandma was an avid reader and I don't ever remember her taking a nap in the afternoons even when she was 80! Instead, she'd sit up straight on her tall stool and read from the fine print of her epic "Bhagavata Purana" Oh, she loved fiction, too. My Mom and I have bribed each other often with who gets to read a book first - with the bribe being tackling housework.
The things I'd do for a book! I have fond memories of hiding a novel inside my text books and also reading under the blanket with the torch on and feeling very clever, little knowing that my Mom and Grandma had a good laugh at the glow from my bed and ignored it so I'd have my happy thrills.
Today I enjoy the privilege of being contacted by authors directly to review their books and to help them edit their manuscripts.
I am in book heaven, I say! And it is such a great place to be!
I want to share some inspiring quotes on reading books with you - some of them are downright hilarious, which is what makes them all the more enjoyable. What's life without a shelf of good books and a few laughs, eh?
I love these quotes and they make my heart sing! Enjoy!
Inspiring quotes on reading books
It is better to have your nose in a book than in someone else's business! I'll read my books and I'll drink coffee and I'll listen to music and I'll bolt the door! Never put off till tomorrow the book you can read today. What really knocks me out is a book that, when you're all done reading it, you wish the author that wrote it was a terrific friend of yours and you could call him up whenever you felt like it! Yes!Reading won't solve your problems. But then again, neither will housework. Sigh!
Between the pages of a book is a lovely place to be! Try reading instead! Heh! Nice try, dishes, I'm still going to read! A book is like a garden carried in the pocket! Asking me if I like reading is like asking me if I like breathing. Yes, I like reading. Why, yes, that does make me awesome. Thanks for noticing! So many books...so little time! I was born with a reading list I will never finish! Which quotes did you like the most? Go ahead and pin your favorites!Oh wait, do you enjoy reading?
