The Instagram Recap is coming to you a day late, as it was a long weekend, and a wonderful one at that. This weekend my Bestie and I journeyed up to NYC for a couple of days, which were fantastic, and also produced a looooooot of pictures. So, enjoy!
1) The adventure began Friday night. We arrived near Penn Station an were launched head first into the craziness that is New York City on a Friday night.2) Bestie and I began our Saturday morning by walking across the Brooklyn Bridge.
3) We took a little break for some Jamba Juice and chilled on the steps of the New York City Public Library.4) More chill time, this time in Central Park.
5) The sign outside the Nederlander Theatre for "Newsies." I was kind of a little bit excited...or maybe a lot.6) The curtain thing before the show started. I started geeking out a lot.
7) This was our designated fangirl freakout "OMG WE'RE SEEING NEWSIES!!" picture.8) Walking through Times Square after the show and...oh look, it's Newsies. :)
9) After the show, we met my cousin at the restaurant he works at for some drinks and desserts. They were all super duper yummy and beautifully presented. This was chocolate mousse with passion fruit anglais. Delicious.10) Sunday, Bestie and I went to the American Museum of Natural History (you know...where "Night at the Museum" takes place?). These are Alaskan Moose. And I know it kind of looks like a painting, but that's just the filter. It's actually a display.
11) Look! I found Nemo! And I also learned that clown fish are not called clown fish. They're actual name is clown anemonefish. True story. (And Office Boy said that can't actually be Nemo because he doesn't have a lucky fin...so I guess I found Marlin?)12) Sea otters! One of my favorite animals. Did you know that they hold hands when they sleep so they don't drift apart from each other? Yep. Adorable. :)
13) Some totallyyyy delicious, authentic New York pizza from a random little spot near Central Park.14) A shot as we drove out of the city. Bye bye, NYC. See you next time!
15) Monday morning I spent some time reorganizing, sorting through, and getting rid of a bunch of stuff and I found this -- apparently at one time in my life, I was an Official Member of the TY Beanie Baby club.16) Office Boy got a chocolate cake from Trader Joe's. Totally adorable and super delicious.
17) The beautifulness that is my Newsies poster, signed by almost the entire original cast, including Jeremy Jordan, Alex Wong, and Jess LeProtto. Yep. It was kind of awesome.
I could go on and on about how ridiculously amazing Newsies was, but I won't bore you with all of that. Just know that it's awesome and you should go see it. Like...now. Go. Do it.
