Invisible Readers

Invisible Readers
Before I started my own blog, I used to read a select few that I'd found via youTube. I'd watch their videos and really admire what they did. Karrisx and Anna Saccone were two of the main youTubers and bloggers I'd enjoy watching and reading about. I would have loved to be able to create my own youTube videos, but there are so many reasons I don't. The time - I just don't have it. The ability to appear confident on camera - it's just not me. The fact that I prefer writing - ta da! The blogger inside me was born!
I've said many times that I love blogging. It's not all about the 'products'. For me, it's about the 'diary' element that blogging brings. When I reflect on certain times in the past year, I can click onto my blog find the date I have in mind and bam, I can sit and read about how I felt at that time, how much I've changed, how much life has changed. It means I can remember all the little details that a lifetime of memories sometimes forgets. For that, writing a blog, is just wonderful.
Before I created my own little space on the Internet and whilst reading and taking inspiration from the various blogs I was reading at that time, there was something I didn't do.. I never commented. I really enjoyed the posts that were being written, I'd log on to their blogs/youTube accounts daily to see if they'd posted anything new. But I'd never leave a comment. Why would I? I was there to read or to watch, not comment.
Now that I have my own blog, I realize the power of a comment to the blogger. Stats are lovely, logging on to my Blogger account and seeing how many people have visited my site in one day, always brings a smile to my face. But comments, well they are that much more exciting. It tells me that 'real' people are reading and enjoying what I'm writing, it serves to reassure me that I'm not 'talking' to myself. My Husband and I were talking about this very subject the other day and he reminded me that he though he spends a great deal of time reading forums and such on topics he enjoys, he has never once commented.
And this in turn opened up a question in my mind. Do I have any invisible readers? I'd like to think that perhaps I do, but who knows, maybe my little blog isn't yet at that stage and that's okay, I'll keep working at it. But if I do have any invisible readers and you are one of them, please do say Hi one time, it would be nice to know that you are there.
