Issey Miyake L’Eau d’Issey City Blossom Limited Edition 2015

Posted on the 24 June 2015 by Genzelkisses

We may not have spring season in the country but every morning, as I see the sun shines through my window glass, flowers bloom to tell me it’s a fresh start, it feels like spring is here. It is a season of growth. Every single day allows us to grow and move forward. It is exactly the message for me of the new Limited Edition perfume from Issey Miyake called, City Blossom.

Issey Miyake (L’eau d’Issey) City Blossom

The Flacon
It’s very feminine yet very stylish. I like the gradient opaque silver around the bottom of the bottle that fades into transparent pink glass enclosed with a silver cap. It’s an upside down cone bottle that resembles the Eiffel tower.

The Fragrance
The scent brings me to different dimensions as I pass through the top, middle, and base notes. The light fruity scent welcomes me to the change of season and as I reach the center, I can smell the blossoming buds and freshness of flowers. As the petals completely touches the skin, it rest with a musky scent that’s bold and energizing.

Top notes: pink peppercorn, citrus, calone
Middle notes: osmanthus flowers, freesia, magnolia
Base notes: virginia white cedar, ambrox, white musk

Issey Miyake invited Alberto Morillas and the visual street artist Mademoiselle Maurice
to create the new limited edition City Blossom 2015 for spring.

“I have great admiration for L’Eau d’Issey, and while I have met the challenge of creating a temporary reinterpretation of it, I have the greatest respect for the values it has conveyed since its creation.” A. Morillas

Mademoiselle Maurice is a 29-year old French artist. From her tiny workshop in Paris, she has designed and created countless coloured works which are testaments to her diversely influenced background and education.

The photo above is the illustration made by Mademoiselle Maurice, everything made from origami.
It is her interpretation of L’Eau d’Issey that you can see in the flacon, box, and campaign of City Blossoms.

Issey Miyake City Blossom is a great fragrance for spring and other seasons as the scent brings positive vibes and energy. It’s so fresh with great staying power. I love the combination of floral, citrus, and musky notes in one bottle. The packaging can be a nice gift too! My boyfriend is currently using the L’Eau d’Issey Pour Homme and I love it whenever he’s wearing it! Let me know if you want me to review it for you!
