These are the few things that make me happy and I am sure you would find something in common with me.
1.FACEBOOK
I joined Facebook on Jan 27th this year (and there’s an interesting story behind why i remember it, which I’ll be sharing with you in my later posts) and boy, I’m addicted! This is what that makes me most happy. It helps me a) keep informed on ‘what’s going on’ in my friends’ lives, b) in going through the pictures and the views that they’ve shared, c) getting the latest information on what’s happening in the world and d) staying connected with all of my friends (and acquaintances). Just open your Fb home page and you know it all!
2. BEING ONSTAGE
Though I would be the first one to have a nervous breakdown, standing before an audience on a stage but still I love that feeling! It gives me an adrenaline rush. It makes me feel great when everyone follows me with rapt regard and when i am the center of their attention. Nothing in the world can beat that feeling. I would have loved to give this the number one place in my list, but since I am more often on Facebook than on a stage, on the collective happiness quotient fb wins!
3. BLOGGING
In real it is writing that makes me happy, but in the modern terms blogging is equal to writing minus the pen and the paper but plus a bigger audience. It helps to vent out my thoughts and feelings. Afterall, music and writing are the best ways to express oneself.
4. SINGING
I am a bathroom singer, you see. I feel jolly good when I sing. I’ve had the experience of singing on stage during the last years of my school. Until then I used to play conga drums. It was my school music teacher who helped me come out of my closet and gave me the confidence to perform on stage. Since then I’ve taken my love for it to an entire new level.
5. LISTENING TO MUSIC
Songs, songs and songs… bring them in and out…I’m open to them all. I am not particularly fond of rock music, It’s the melodious and the soulful ones that touch my heart. Mark Richardson’s ‘ I’ll be right here waiting for you’ , Bryan Adams’ ‘Everything I do’ and Enrique Iglesias “Escape’ are my favorites. Apart from them, i can go on hearing Bollywood music forever.
6. HANGING OUT WITH FRIENDS
I have been religiously doing ever since I passed out of my school. Each and every day, me and my friends spend around 2 hours in the evening strolling in the market and the parks, around our sector. We share with each other about how our day went by, we chat away our time and, smile and thunderously laugh at the slightest pretext. Our day seems incomplete without this activity!
# And these multiply the joy of my daily life :-
a) A few loving words and a pat on my back.
b) A smile from a stranger.
c) Acknowledgement of my hard work.
d) Honest suggestions and encouragement, and
e) Happiness in the lives of people I love.
What makes you happy?…..:)
