I have always had a gypsy spirit… I have pretty much always felt the best on the move and found that more than a couple of years in the same place made me feel antsy and ready to move on to the next adventure.
In the last few weeks, I have learned some stuff about myself.
Not only do I actually thoroughly enjoy flying, much to my own amazement…
I also might not be a gypsy.
I find that I can’t be away from home for long.
I had the best visit at my brother’s house in Whitehorse, the babies are growing and I think I made solid inroads to being the favorite Aunty…nevermind the fact I have no competition…whatever. I win.
I managed to bring home Wee Jack’s baby cold…maybe we shouldn’t have been smooching so much. But how do you resist those cute little baby cheeks, or not tickle that cute little baby neck with Aunty kisses?
It was worth it…and the Wee Prince and I had some good times hanging out with our new dinosaur…his name is Rex.
He lives in my phone…the Wee Prince is pretty smart when it comes to figuring things like that out…
Because, best Selfie to find on your phone. EVER.
It’s funny how you can go somewhere and not feel like you are missing home, but when you get back to your own place, your own stuff, your own routine and your own life…it’s like….AHHHH.
I love my life. I love our castle, our dogs, our mental case cat, my messy grown up, as of the other day 19 year old son. Hell I even love the fruit flies I am trying to kill that are all over my house because for the life of me I can’t get the kid to not leave dead food in his room.
As our babies grow, so do we. We go through different stages, fight different battles and cry different tears.
I adore my wee nephews with all of my heart, but I am so happy to be where I am in my life with my children grown and mostly on their own. I am happy to be fighting fruit flies and telling both of them to be careful and make good choices, and to pay their rent on time.
I am thankful to have a home, that really feels like one…and for not having the feeling that I need to run anymore to find the next new adventure.
I am also thankful for baby kisses and the colds you get from them, and pilots that know how to land their big and little airplanes so the chicken shit in me knows how silly she has been for the last 50 years…
Happy Saturday everyone. xox
