Happy Monday, everyone!
If you're on the East Coast, I hope you're staying safe and enjoying your day off (if you got one). My boss called last night a little before 8:00pm to inform me that I didn't have to come in to work today, which, of course, prompted an immediate happy dance in my living room.
Today has been quite relaxing and though this weekend was a bit up and down emotionally, I'm trying to remind myself of all the wonderful blessings that I have and the little things that have been bright spots over the last few weeks.
First of all, I found out a couple of weeks ago that I got Employee of the Month for my company which gave me a bonus that allows me to buy my keyboard two months early. So now I just have to decide which place is best to purchase my lovely keyboard and I will once again be able to relieve my stress through music, and that makes me so excited.
Second, last week, I received this lovely package after a long day at work:
Big sister and my new brother-in-law ordered this yummy bouquet of shortbread cookies and had it sent to me. Apparently it was supposed to arrive on Halloween, which happens to be hole-punch day, but I'm perfectly okay with it arriving a few days early. It was a lovely surprise after a long Thursday.
Third, my church's annual Christmas pageant is coming up. I'll be dancing and choreographing, which is something I haven't done since high school, and I'm quite excited. But I also auditioned to play Mary, the mother of Jesus. I didn't actually get the part, but I am her understudy, and though part of me is a tiny bit disappointed, I am pleased, because it means that I get to both dance and play Mary without having to convince the production team I can do both (which is something I've never successfully been able to do in the past).
And fourth and finally, even though there is an impending hurricane outside, so far things haven't been too crazy. Power and internet are still going strong and the last day has been quite productive. I stayed up far later than I should have last night, but the result was a blog redesign that I am so incredibly pleased with. It feels so much more like me. I got to have lunch with a good friend today, and I've gotten to enjoy some delicious tea (in a super cute teapot that was a gift from my mother) while staying inside, safe and sound from the hurricane.
The past few weeks have been hard, and I don't think they're going to get easier any time soon, but God is still good, and I'm so grateful that He finds little ways to remind me that He still loves me. :)
Hope you all have a wonderful rest of your Monday. Keep dry and stay safe!
