It's Time To Pamper

Babies are cute. Babies are blessings. Those cute little beings always bring joy to the family. Who would deny it?

From my little brothers to my nephews and nieces, I have been tending babies for long now. I love to hold them especially to see the way they snuggle inside my arms. That soft wrinkled and flaky skin of the newborns is a pleasure to feel.

The first time I remember when I held a baby, that was my little brother. When my Mom placed him in my arms I was overjoyed. The first kiss, I smelled baby powder. I love kissing babies because they smell so fresh (I'm not talking about the diaper part here :P). When I gently rubbed his hands, he wrapped my index finger with his tiny little fingers, that was one of the most beautiful moments I cherish till now. Since then I am so fond of holding babies, carrying them & stroll and sing them lullaby & put them to sleep. Basically, I love bonding with babies.

Recently my cousin delivered a baby girl. And you know, there is nothing quite like the soft skin of a baby. I love rubbing my cheek against hers. I knew that it wouldn't be that soft forever but then I thought it is our responsibility to give her a proper skin care routine and retain the softness as she grow up into a beautiful young girl.

I asked my Granny for few tips and she said, the moisture in a baby's skin will sustain itself we just have to keep things away which will absorb moisture from skin. So here are some easy ways to keep your Baby's skin soft.

#1 : Bath Basics

Not necessarily babies need to bathe every day. But if they really enjoy it, keep in mind not to let babies in water for too long. Because that might reduce the natural skin moisture. Instead of soaps use a mild body wash. Use a soft cotton towel to wipe them gently And once dry, apply olive oil or almond oil immediately to seal in moisture and prevent dry skin. Moisturizers are too early for the use of infants. After all every parent would love to see their baby's skin soft and glow. This is also a best time to communicate with the baby

#2 : After Bath Massage

Giving babies an after bath massage is very important. Massages are not only the best way to tone the baby's muscles but also a great way for a Mother to bond with the baby. It keeps the baby's skin soft as well. My Granny said using Olive oil is the best to lock the moisture in baby's skin instead of baby lotions or creams. Make the massage a regular play time for the baby.

#3 : Clothes Care
The comfortable choice is to wear soft fabric and loose clothes for babies. Moreover, I have seen my Mom washing baby's clothes even before the first use. She says, 'Washing baby's new clothes before putting them for the first time will prevent any skin irritation. Also exposing the clothes to the incense sambrani (Benzoin resin) smoke which dries any dampness and also give fragrance to the fabric.

#4 : Diaper Rule - The Bottom Line
Diaper rashes are common in babies, especially with a tropical climate conditions in India. But the cleaner and drier we keep the baby's bottoms, the less likely the skin will get affected. Choosing the right skin-friendly diaper is very important. Because babies tend to wet often and so the diaper should absorb the excess moisture and let the baby enjoy their play time and nap. No leakage is a very important aspect of the diaper

Pampers brings you the softest ever Pampers Premium Care Pants. Its cotton-like softness is #SoftestForBabySkin and allows it to breathe, thus keeping baby’s skin soft and healthy and your baby happy.

Babies go cranky when their diapers are wet. So make sure to change it often to keep them comfortable. Wipe with baby wipes and dab diaper cream. Let it dry for some time avoiding the moisture leading to the diaper rash. Also, give baby some diaper free time for a couple of hours daily. After all, no mother would compromise on the comfort of her babies.

#5 : Under The Sun

Getting enough sunlight every day is important for the baby. When the skin is exposed to sunlight, the body produces vitamin D. Vitamin D is an essential nutrient for health and of course good skin. But when taking babies in sunlight, make sure the baby is covered properly. Keep the baby under a shade, protect the eyes and not to expose too much of sun.Even though your infant is not ready to turn on his/her belly, you can put them on their belly during this time. And that will be a good exercise for babies.

It is essential to keep the baby's skin moisture locked. From shampoo to powder to diapers, use products with baby friendly ingredients. Better stick to mild or natural products suitable for babies. Treating the baby skin can be simple, well, if only you know what to do and what not to do.

Follow these simple tips and everything will be smoother and #SoftestForBabySkin.
