This was a fantastic Valentines weekend. Truth is the past few weeks have been hard on us. Life isn't always butterflies and unicorns. We decided that we needed to do something really fun for Valentines to help us get back on our feet. Jared plays in a cover band and they had a gig on Friday. It's always a lot of fun to be a groupie for my husband. I love watching him play, he's incredible. Our weekend was off to a really good start after his show went well. J planned the whole weekend for us. Around 2pm he had my brother come over to puppysit and we were off. I had no idea where we were going. Off we went. About an hour later we ended up at the Zermont hotel in Midway, UT. There were incredible ice castles about 10 minutes from the hotel, we decided we had no plans for the evening - so why not. I'll tell you why not.... The line was insane, you would have though we were at Disneyland. We were about to bail when we saw a few friends in line and pretended they'd been saving our spot. After about an hour and 15 minutes we made it to the front. Luckily they had fire dancers and ice sculptors keeping our minds off the long wait. We spent about 25 minutes inside the castle before we'd seen each crevice. It really was an increible experience. We headed back to the hotel and went straight to the hot tub. Something is really fun about going from one extreme to another.
We stayed up all night long watching movies, eating ice cream and enjoying the bed without dog hogs.
The next day we drove to Park City, ate lunch and shopped our lives away. It was the perfect Valentines. The perfect way to reconnect after such a rough few weeks.
How do you reconnect after a rough patch?
