In addition, Dr. Jitendra Singh holds other portfolios. These are MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy & Space. The flag off event of Jammu Haridwar Express train takes place at Baroda House, Railway headquarters.

Dr. Jitendra Singh says his personal presence has a special meaning for the occasion. He is there at Railway headquarters during the flagging off ceremony in order to convey gratitude on behalf of the people of Jammu. In fact, the Ministry of Railways has been continuously responding positively to the serious concerns of the people of Jammu. The Ministry has timely taken proper action to the needs and demands of the people of Jammu. This is something quite important that the people there are getting a quick response to their needs and demands. Rather it must be a moment of satisfaction for them.

In fact, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently flagged off the historic Kamakhya (Assam) to Katra (Vaishno Devi) train. As a matter of fact, this flagging off was less than three months ago. Moreover, this historic train covers a distance of more than 2,000 kilometers. Additionally, it connects the two destinations of great religious importance. In fact, both Kamakhya and Katra are religious pilgrimages.

Dr. Jitendra Singh opines at the event that a train is not merely a mode of transport. Rather it is a lot more than that. Hence, it deeply connects our psyches and cultures. Thus it instantly conjures up images of movement, progress and reaching out to people and places. Keeping in mind that India is a country of versatile cultures, it holds a lot of importance. He seconds Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dictum of “Speed, Scale, and Skill”. As a matter of fact, this is very critical for growth and progress of the country and its people. In fact, the Indian Railways has been doing its best in order to follow this dictum. Rather it has earmarked its tremendous growth in the last two years. This has been happening under the strong leadership of the Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu.

Moreover, as Dr. Jitendra Singh says, it is a substantial achievement. Because the Ministry is able to expand its Railway network to the remotest parts of the country that include Kashmir Valley and Katra. As a matter of fact, the people there had never imagined of it. In addition, there will be a new Railway Station at Kathua soon. And the expansion of Udhampur Railway Station is also on the cards. Moreover, there are some small but of significant importance tasks in the pipeline. These are setting up of sitting benches and shades at Kathua, Udhampur and Ram Nagar Railway Stations. For this, the funds are already being released from his Member of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS).

Lastly, the progress in the construction of Railway bridge at Reasi is quite satisfactory. This is going to be a point of great strength for the Railway link between Jammu and Kashmir.
