The religious connotations ought to be evident.
Prolonged thought, musing, meditative, pensive, reflective, deep thought, lost in thought or a person’s devotion to prayer are just some synonyms.
Smoking, an act which for centuries has been often connected to religion or religious rituals in various cultures, has helped millions in their contemplation, but the act has not been about contemplating the act itself.
On a similar note: I have yet to see a cigarette smoker who contemplates the cigarette being smoked.
A pipe/cigar smoker will often enough find and lose one’s self in contemplating the pipe or cigar at hand, the smoke, the ash, while reflecting on the experience in the palate. Documentations speak clearly. Jeff is just one example amongst many individuals.
This is also a direct and indirect reason why this blog must go well beyond a fine Smoke.
Even the fineness and type of smoke stems from the mind.
