Join The Witches Of South Walton Ride On Halloween!

Witches of South Walton 2011 by SoWal.com

Are you looking for something fun to do at the break of dawn on the morning of Halloween?

Make new friends, benefit a great cause, and get some exercise by joining 30A EATS in the annual Witches of South Walton ride along Scenic 30A,  and get in touch with your inner cackle!

The Witches of South Walton meet at 7 a.m. sharp at Miss Lucille’s in Gulf Place, and ride bikes to Butler Elementary to spook and surprise the children. All regroup at Grayt Coffee House in Grayton Beach for brunch and share in a fun raffle for local treats.

Entry fee is $15 and raffle tickets are $5, to benefit Children’s Volunteer Health Network (CVHN).

To save time on the morning of the ride, you are invited to a Witches Brew at Great Southern Café in Seaside on Oct. 30, from 5 pm to 7 pm, where you can register and pay the entry fee.

Carol Stafford, Witches of South Walton Founder says, “This foolishness started in 2004 when two of my friends and I rode our bikes along the bike path several times a week for exercise.  I jokingly suggested that we wear witch hats on Halloween day.  We did, and got lots of attention.  Buses and trucks honked their horns and people whistled.  Most of all, the school kids, parents and teachers loved it. Admittedly, we were asked to keep our brooms away from the school, but for the most part we have become a cherished tradition. Most people look forward to seeing us!”

Help support CVHN, don your best witch costume, and join the Witches of South Walton for a fiendishly frightful great time this Halloween. See Witches of South Walton on facebook for more details.
