Jollibee, Queens

Jollibee, QueensIt just came over to me that it’s been a month since I arrived here in the US.  So far I’ve enjoyed the places we went to in the last 4 weeks not to mention the diverse food selection. The sad thing about being here though is the thought that you’re far away from your family. And the worst of them all is I’m not around in time for my kid’s birthday celebration.Jollibee, QueensNot to be more disappointed and left behind in the ongoing birthday party of my youngest in Manila, I seek the help of some friends to find the Jollibee in Queens, NY. It’s not that far from where we are staying but going there wasn’t quite easy because we have to transfer a lot in the subway. Being first timers  in Queens, we eventually got lost because of the wrong address I picked up  in the internet.
Jollibee, QueensThank God,  we bumped into a fellow kababayanand we were told of the right address. It was already lunch when we arrived , I decided to go for the Amazing Aloha and palabok. This came out 8.69USD for the burger and 4.49USD for the palabokAng mahal!!LOL Since it’s my  son’s birthday I treat my friends with the classic 2pc-Chicken Joy and Jolly Spaghetti.

Instead of calamansi, a Lemon Juice is use for palabok.

To tell you the truth this is actually my first time to order Amazing Aloha from Jollibee.  The idea of a pineapple in a cheese burger came out a bit weird for me but the mushy texture of the patty and the sweet-salty combination of bacon, pineapple was a delectable delight for my taste buds.  The palabok is delicious as well but it’s taste kinda different because of the lemon sauce.

You can tell how much they miss eating with rice.

Jollibee, QueensNo Jollibee party would be complete without  Spaghetti.  As a kid growing up  I always look forward to have this noodle topped with sweet tomato sauce, chopped ham, hotdogs, and as for the US version it’s a melted American cheese.

Don't go to Jollibee without taking a picture with the cute Jollibee mascot

Being the only  Jollibee store in the East Coast, the place is always packed with Pinoys.  The place is clean, although small you can always find seats.  The staff were friendly and the service is pretty quick. We stayed there for an hour,  sharing our childhood memories with Jollibee.   For a day we feel like  we’re back home in Manila.
