Don’t you hate it when you are at work for eight hours…five days a week and the radio stations suck?
We have Sirius radio at the garden centre, and in as much as it’s true that we have good choice in the kind of tunes and amount of stations that we get, for some reason, that is beyond anything I can comprehend…
I still can’t find a station that doesn’t play the exact same songs every day and all week long.
I mean COME ON here. There are 50 million songs in the world, how hard can it possibly be to play different songs, every single day?
And what the hell is with choosing songs that absolutely SUCK? I mean, after the 50th time of listening to Joni Mitchell’s California, all I want to do is stab my eye out with a fork, or a pen, or pretty much anything with a point on the end. I just have to change the station now after the first three notes.
And what is up with playing John Denver, sixty times a week. I mean I know he is no longer with us, and because of that he won’t know if we stop playing Rocky Mountain High will he?
Let’s at least throw a kick ass Tom Jones song in there once and a while or something, and drop the Harry Nilsson song. Because yes, apparently there is only one. And it’s really not radio material.
I tend to switch back and forth between the Bridge (70’s-90ish) and the Highway…which is obviously country. But even then, I don’t want to hear the new lame Kenny Chesney song 6 times a day, sorry Kenny but we all know you can do better…
It’s time that people started to understand that there are more than two songs on an album, and some of them are way better than anything on the radio. And by people, I mean whoever the hell is in charge of the radio stations.
I could rock that job. You wouldn’t even have to play the same song for a month…screw the money and the bullshit that makes people money. I just want to listen to some good old Rock and Roll, with a little country and maybe a shot of Elvis for good measure.
It doesn’t have to be any Genre…it just needs to be good music, the kind that makes people want to smile, sing and possibly dance while they are at work.
I just don’t understand why that seems to be so hard…so if anyone wants to front a radio station, I can be the manager you have always wanted and totally pick the playlists and make the website for ya, hell I will even DJ if you need me to…just a thought.
