Summer is here. The days are hotter. The sun is shining. And soon the kids will be on school holidays (Read on to find out how you can win a Splash and Shade Wading Pool from Clark Rubber).
And if your house is like mine you will have the following happen.
"I'm bored mummy!" or "Can we go somewhere fun?" or possibly "Can we go to the pool/beach?"
If are like me, you love taking the kids places. But it can be a bit of a drama with driving to and fro, packing all the things needed for a trip to the pool or the beach (and with what you need to take, you can feel like you are moving out of home) and of course, then you have the trip in the car with kids that could do your head in.
So what is the answer?
Well for me, it is to stay at home. So how do you cure the boredom and constant questions to go out from your little people?
The solution is to have things available at home so that your kids can play and you don't have to leave the house.
This way you can even have mates over for a BBQ and catch up while the kids can play together. Perfect don't you think?

How do I keep my kids cool this summer?Clark Rubber kindly sent me the Superslide Triple to test out (the kids love being testers). The kids love the sprinkler and the pool so I'm sure that this slide will be a huge hit.
I did not tell them what it was. It was all wrapped up in brown paper and of course that got ripped off quick smart. Two little faces were so happy and excited that they had a slide to use in the backyard.
One other point that the girls were happy with was that there was room for their good friend down the street to come and use it as well. Having a triple slide means that all three kids could have fun, a good thing for when Alexander gets older.
It was a very easy slide to set up. Some pegs were put into the side of the slide to make sure that it did not move around too much.
As you can see, the girls mate from down the road was happy to help cool down with this fabulous slide. It was such a hot day that all three kids were begging us to cool them down with something, the sprinkler, a drink, or anything. Having this at home was so easy and defiantly made all three kids day, plus and stopped them whinging for me to take them somewhere else.
Once all set up and ready to go, we added the hose to get the whole thing wet and ready for its first use.
The twins are such outdoor kids and love getting dirty, wet and having fun especially on hot summer days.
It was so nice to stay at home while the kids played. I am normally racing around in the car and during summer this can be a hot and sweaty experience. I do have air conditioning but the appeal of not leaving the house made me have a more relaxed day as well.
Everyone had a nice, fun, and happy summers day. I must say that I got into the action and got wet from the slide too. It is hard not to get wet when kids are racing everywhere and trying to splash the adults (I think this is part of the fun, who can get mummy and daddy more soaked).
Our little helper Alexander ended up in the mud cooling down as well! Everyone had fun, although some a little messier than others.
