Keep In Touch, No Matter The Distance With Famileo
One of the biggest benefits of living in a technologically advancing world is that we can keep up with the lives of our loved ones no matter what the geographical distance between us, whether it's through social media, video calling or messaging apps. But what about those elderly relatives who are not tech savvy?
Take my own father for example. At 76 years old, he doesn't tend to get on well with technology - he doesn't use social media accounts and although he has a mobile phone it's not one that can receive video calls or use messaging apps. He lives around 250 miles away from us, so we tend to only see him around once a month - so thinking of ways to keep him involved in his grandchildren's lives and updated on what's going on with us can be tricky.
That's why I was delighted to discover Famileo - the perfect way to combine the convenience of modern technology with an accessible-for-all way of staying in touch - creating a regular family newspaper!
The Famileo app is so user friendly and simple to use - you just create your account, set up your subscription and select your newspaper recipients.
Then you simply upload your photographs and share your news! You can write updates to accompany the photos, and you have the option of selecting a single image or a collage to accompany your write up.
When the family app code is shared with other family members, they are also able to log in and share their own news and photos in the family newspaper too - each entry will be attributed to its author so that the recipient is clear on which update belongs to which family member.
This is ideal for families like mine, as my sister also lives a distance away from our Dad - so using my code she's able to update the family newspaper with what's going on in her kids lives too!

You can use the newspaper for whatever you'd like...whether its news such as awards the kids have won at school, first teeth falling out or what you get up to at the weekends. Or recaps on favorite family memories from the past to bring a smile to your recipients face - the newspaper is yours to use as you wish! You could even allow your kids to be in control of the content as a way to help strengthen the bond between them and their distant older relatives.
Once your publication date comes around (which you can override if you'd like to), your newspaper is printed and sent directly to your recipient in the post.
And here's what they receive - a high quality newspaper full of your news and photographs! Isn't this a wonderful way to keep elderly relatives in the loop!

I know my Mum will love these newspapers as although she is more tech savvy and does get to see the kids photos on social media, she will really love being able to keep and treasure the printed pictures in the newspaper and show them to her friends.
Each newspaper can contain up to 30 images and updates, and costs just £5.99 per month for the whole family!
Originally launched in France in 2015, Famileo aims to bring the younger and older generations together no matter what the physical distance between them.
