Knowledge in the 21st Century

The funny thing about the explosion of knowledge in the 21st century via mediums such as the internet is that the data overload will ultimately result in a transcendence of knowledge as such and it will be finally seen that the pursuit of knowledge is not the end of mans need to know. No amount of learning will at the last leave him satisfied that he finally knows for there is no end of knowledge. He will see that it does not bring contentment and this will give way to the mystery of existence and turn his sights toward embracing the unknown as an end in itself. That is, to know that one does not know, and that there is no need to know, he ultimately finds freedom. In other words liberation from the duality of limiting the apparent world and himself. Knowledge is power in so far as it goes, but it does not give man freedom by answering life’s questions. In fact the pursuit of knowledge births more questions than it answers. Rising above the anxiety of not knowing man will dive head long into the void that is reality whilst abrogating the very question of epistemology.
