Kuwait Weather, Colds and Flu in our little ones

It’s that time of year when all our little ones are coming down with the cold/flu, we started exactly a week ago. Oodie first and then Alooi, I left them for the first couple of days with just baby pandol but yesterday, I had enough of runny noses and dirty cushions. We went to the doctor and we got an antibiotic, turns out it is flu rather than a cold, glad I took them, doctor said normally we let kids fight colds/flu for 3/4 days and if it appears that it is getting worse it would be beneficial for them to have an antibiotic.

I don’t like giving them lots of meds, I really try to make sure they have a good diet full of fruit and veg to build those little immune systems up but it isn’t easy. Oodie is VERY fussy compared to a year ago, brocolli is a maybe but that really is about the only vegetable he will touch.

So, today, we are all wrapped up, AC is down and we are all in pjs having a lazy duvet day. Oodie and I have watched Spongebob for the last half hour in arabic on mbc3, he is giggling….at least one of us understands.

He has missed nursery school this week, I’m a bit gutted about that, he was just settling into his routine. Back next week, he can have the weekend to recover.

We are staying loaded up on freshly squeezed orange, fresh lemon, water and honey. A great mixture when combined with hot water and a spoonful of sugar.

Here are a few handy links should you need them:
