Hello :)I'm back again with a lipstick review and this time it is from the newly launched Lakme Office Stylist range in Fuchsia Fever. I didn’t spot this shade when this range was first launch and the SA told me that this was launched recently along with a lot of other new shades. You should definitely check out this range, there were many new shades and I was surprised at the variety! There were bright oranges, peaches, beige ones and bright reds! Let’s see how this one fared. :)

Price:Rs. 400 for 3.6mlShelf life: 24 monthsIngredients: Not mentioned!Lakme 9 to 5 Lipstick: Fuchsia Fever: Review/Swatch/LOTD Packaging: The packaging is very stylish! A rose metallic case with shade name and number printed below it. The label is not color coded so searching for the shade that you want, especially when you have many lipsticks from this range will be a bit difficult. It closes with a very loud click and is very travel friendly, it won’t open unless you wrench it apart :PLakme 9 to 5 Lipstick: Fuchsia Fever: Review/Swatch/LOTD Shade: The main reason why I picked this up was because it looked awesome when swatched on hand, a bright pink! I love pinks, especially bright ones and this looked so tempting. But on lips, it appears darker. Lakme 9 to 5 Lipstick: Fuchsia Fever: Review/Swatch/LOTDStaying power & Texture: It stays on well for 4 hours, after which my lips start feeling dry. It settles into fine lines a bit, but nothing too obvious. It glides smoothly across the lips, but you could feel the shimmers when you apply. The shimmers are so coarse and gritty, I just can’t stop cribbing about them!! :(  I did notice that it had shimmers when I swatched it but I thought I could handle it but somehow I was wrong! These shimmers are nothing short of a nightmare : they are chunky, they are silver and they spread around your lips so much that after about four hours, you would end up looking like Heath Ledger from The Dark Knight, the only difference being your lips will be surrounded by silver shimmer while his was surrounded by a red color! :P See how its surface looks when I took a pic of it with flash :P Shimmer overload!!  Lakme 9 to 5 Lipstick: Fuchsia Fever: Review/Swatch/LOTDPigmentation: It is pigmented and 2-3 swipes would be needed to cover pigmentation completely. One thing to note here is that as you layer the lipstick, the shimmer gets layered too and it looks OTT. Since the finish is matte, the shimmers look even more out of place and odd. I’m not sure if you could see the shimmer in the lip swatch since these were taken immediately after application but I assure you that it looks very OTT in person, especially after it sets to a matte finish. The top one was taken without flash, the bottom one was taken with flash.   Lakme 9 to 5 Lipstick: Fuchsia Fever: Review/Swatch/LOTDPros:
  • Travel friendly and cute packaging
  • Good staying power
  • Nice shade
  • Application is smooth
Cons:
  • Too much of shimmer
  • No ingredients list
Rating: 3/5
Final Word: This lipstick has many good points but the shimmer is a big turn off. If you are comfortable with shimmer lipsticks, give it a try at the counter and then pick it up but otherwise skip it!
