…laugh It off

We’ve all been there, someone tells a joke, a few people laugh and even though you don’t get it, you join right in, hoping no one can tell you’re faking it. I have bad news. They probably can.

To be more precise, there’s about a 66.6 percent shot  they can see right through your facade, according to a new study from UCLA.

Yes, two-thirds of the time your audience is seeing right through you.

The way I see it you have two options:

One, you can learn to admit when you don’t get something and hope that your friends are kind, thoughtful people who are excited to share their knowledge and wit; thereby becoming a better friend and more informed human being. Sounds nice, right?

Two, you can start working on your fake laughing.

Practice makes perfect.
