…laugh It up

We’ve all heard that old sentimental saying:  live, love, but don’t laugh too much, they’re charging you by the chuckle…or something like that…

That’s exactly the case at a comedy club in Barcelona, where they’ve reportedly started implementing facial recognition software in order to charge per laugh.

I suppose that’s one way to insure that you get your money’s worth. So, what’s the going rate for a laugh these days? Taking the euro to dollar conversion rate into account, approximately 38 cents a chortle. If you’re a giggler, don’t worry they cap the rate at about $30. If you’re the kind of person that can enjoy comedy, while maintaining a straight face, have I got a deal for you.

Yes, there’s a good chance this is all a joke/publicity stunt, but until I know for sure, I’m not laughing, not when it’s 38 cents a pop.
