Friday’s Quotes for the Chicks

All you need is love. But a little chocolate now and then doesn’t hurt.
Charles M. Schulz

Another summer Friday. August is quickly sailing along. Today is Trevor’s last week working at a nearby nature center and then he’ll spend next week getting ready to leave. To fly from our little nest to join the Army Corps of Cadets at Norwich.

After which he’ll be followed by Griffin who will be returning to RIT – a school that is 8 hours away.

It doesn’t get easier.

But that’s all next week. For this week we are together, enjoying good food, good company, and even our New Hampshire good weather.

Two bits of news for you:

In our town we have an outlet mall. The other day I went with Logan and we stopped in at the Lindt store (because if I’m going to go to the mall, I might was well get some chocolate.) We ended up buying two sea salt – milk chocolate truffles (meh, save your money) and while at the checkout, I spied the sweet little chocolate hen above.

Yeah, I know, she was probably left over a batch of earlier Easter candy, but she was a hen.

And she was chocolate.

‘nuff said.

The second bit of news is that an article I wrote is in this month’s issue of Backyard Poultry magazine on page 64. I’ve included a scan of it here. Enjoy.

If you click on this image it will bring you to a larger (readable) size image.
