Last week I attended a recipe swap. I made a fall dessert dip, some crescent pumpkin rolls, and then I made some novelty cookies called Mammo-grahams – figuring that they were “sort of” fall-like because Breast Cancer awareness month is October.
And besides, as a writer, I can appreciate a really good play on words and this was one.
I had seen a recipe on the net which was cute but I wanted to make some that were more realistic – you know like those cheese stick fingers that are served around Halloween,
While at the recipe swap, I took a photo of the cookies and sent it to my Facebook account. The response from the other ladies was what I was looking for and I was pretty proud of my funny joke.
If you read my post last Friday, you’ll know that I even included that picture as an aside to the rest of the blog post.
As of this writing, that photo has gone all over the internet. One site along has over 26K (26,000!) shares of my picture, another site has 10K. It’s even up on Reddit.
I’ve seen my photo pop up from other people in my newsfeed and I’ve seen where people have changed their Facebook cover photo to be this photo. Everyday people are telling me where they have found it.
It’s kind of crazy.
But with all that sharing no one knows that it’s me. When I uploaded the initial photo, I didn’t add a description or even a tag. I just took the photo and uploaded.
This is my 15 minutes of fame where no one knows who I am.
Which, my family has decided is really okay. They’re fine with me being called the chicken-lady, the writer-lady, and even the lyme-lady.
But they weren’t too sure about people calling me the “boobie-lady”
For those who want the recipe, here it is:
Marzipan Mammo-Grahams
No cooking, very easy assembly recipe.
- Chocolate Graham crackers split in two
- A roll of Marzipan (in baking section of grocery store)
- White frosting
- Pink frosting gel
The middle is marzipan. I used one roll cut into 13 pieces and then warmed in the microwave for about 10 seconds. Roll each section into a ball, and then squish while molding it until you have a flat section for between the graham crackers and a bulging section that sticks out. “Glue” the marzipan to the graham crackers with some frosting and then use Pink Frosting gel for the nipple.
Oh and don’t forget the sign, that’s *the* most important part of this recipe.
