Don’t be a hater. No, it’s not difficult to write this blog. It’s even fun. But after four years, even though I did not run out of things to say, I needed a break. (And the fact that I don’t get paid to write this is a contributing factor. Mama needs a new pair of Ecco sandals and those sons-a-bitches never go on sale.)
I’m still on the break, by the way, but I was looking at a receipt I got from Winn Dixie last weekend and I just had to make a few comments about it.
Still on the break, though, so I did a video blog instead of writing it.
This is my second attempt at video-blogging. The last time I tried this the results were disastrous. I looked like a hag and sounded like a 13-year-old. The dichotomy was so distracting, no one listened to what I was saying.
This isn’t perfect, but I’m currently in the process of coming to terms over how I come across on camera, so I’ve got to start somewhere. My dreams of being interviewed on The Rachel Maddow Show are kaput. I am starting to have my doubts that she and I will ever meet and be friends.
Do a video blog and you’ll instantly have a renewed respect for your local news anchors. And the more you have made fun of local people on TV, the worse you’ll look and sound on camera. It’s called Broadcast Karma.
For now, I’ll be just happy to like, talk, and stuff, and um, say words, like, instead of writing it all down, like.
