Let’s Talk: Sin

Sin is like a building; when you take one brick out at a time, it becomes fragile.
LET’S TALK: SIN
The enemy does not destroy you immediately, but does it in bits and pieces. If you, like me, can identify with this metaphor, then you are in good company. Imagine yourself living in a house that is being demolished brick by brick? I think it's even deadlier than one being bulldozed all at once. This is what the enemy strives to do. By every sin, he destroys little by little.

The Bible talks about this temple or house of ours:

I can draw an analogy from this and with what the Bible says in the New Testament about the foolish and wise man building his house on sand or on the rock.

LET’S TALK: SIN

In the case of the former, if the wind comes, it'll be blown away. It'll not stand! However, when compared to the house built on the rock, it'll stand no matter how much the wind comes. I believe strongly that the wind symbolises something evil or from the enemy. It could be sin or sinful desires, and the rock symbolises the Holy Spirit.

Build wisely today! Personally, I am guilty of this and forget that the body is the temple of God and choose to desecrate it with what I allow into my body through my ears and eyes.

Sin separates us from God; this is what the Bible says in Isaiah 59:2. However, by his grace, we are forgiven! By his grace, we are reconciled to him! By his grace, we can say that despite all our flaws, sin should not separate us from God, but draw us closer to him because of his love.

The next time you sin, see it as an opportunity God uses to draw you closer to him. Why?
