Life Laughter And Happily Ever After

Yes, I had all of those – life laughter and happily ever after

Thanks to my Wi Fi going on the blink, I had an impromptu kind of a digital vacation. For a second, I laughed at the irony of not being able to use my new and super fast laptop in the living room, but then, I decided to use the “free” time outdoors.

Truly, nothing like the outdoors to rev up our lives.

I had a list of errands to run anyway and the list was getting longer and longer.

I thought, time to put it on a diet and got going!

I had gifted my old laptop to Vidur and to my horror found the adapter died. So I went and got that fixed.

The dentist’s visit was due so I finished that off and the next visit is in the second week of December. Sometimes I am convinced they do temporary fillings just so they keep falling off and by the time the third filling is due, there isn’t enough tooth left. So they say I need a cap and then of course, no cap unless it is root-canal-ed. Vicious cycle eh? Now my tooth is nicely dead and buried so we’ll be capping it off in a couple of weeks.

Life laughter and happily ever after – that’s me!

On Friday, we took a trip to the Museum where there was a Math Exhibition and had a very pleasant morning indeed.

I spent “quality time” with a dinosaur!

Then one day I strolled by the school and got some pictures – there’s something mesmerizing about the lazy afternoon sun, watching the water lilies in the pond and the butterflies flitting around before being jarred back to reality by the security guard asking me not to go too close and the school bell telling me my time is up.

I usually then move out of the gate and stroll along the pathway where I can eavesdrop on the children’s conversations. Sometimes, all it takes is one child talking to herself, actions and all. How I love that! They are never concerned about who is watching them, they are in their own world!

So the NaNoWriMo concluded, rather successfully for me. I clocked in 98350 words. How satisfying to complete it successfully and emerge WINNER for three years in a row!

And since I am in the mood to keep on writing, I signed up at 750words.com to write 750 words a day in December 2013. This is an initiative based on the Morning Pages inspired by the book The Artist’s Way: A Course in Discovering and Recovering Your Creative Self by Julia Cameron.

I also signed up for NaBloPoMo at BlogHer for December 2013 and will be posting daily on my health blog Your Medical Guide  I am guilty about not posting as regularly as I’d like over there and thought this would be a nice way to motivate myself.

Then, from December 8 to 14, the Write Tribe Festival – 2 is on! The themes are up here and I invite you to sign up. It will be fun connecting with a lot of amazing and dedicated bloggers. It is easy – post on your blog, and then link up at Write Tribe. Besides the Festival, we also feature prompts through the week: Friday 55 fiction, 100 words on Saturday and Wednesday prompts. Come, join us!

So there’s enough going on for December 2013, friends, and it is going to be a busy month. I love being busy!

Another announcement:

You know I enjoy posting inspiring stories from readers. Starting January 2014 I am thinking of posting one reader story a month – a powerful personal story that inspires and moves you….to take action on something you’ve held back from.  I’ve often noticed that besides our own experiences, we learn best from others’ experiences. Keeps the faith, you know?  What do you think? Got a story to tell? Please email me at vidya at vidyasury dot com and I’ll send you the guidelines.

Thank you!

Without deviation from the norm, progress is not possible.

Namaste! I am glad you are here. May your day be filled with smiles!
