I have had the materials to make this for a few weeks now but only just had time to complete it. As you know, we live in quite an old little house that we plan to knock down in a few years to make way for a bigger, family friendly home. We try not to spend too much money on the place as we’d rather see that money go towards the mortgage.
I recently purchased a new (second hand) dining table and chairs for our squishy dining room. We never really spent a lot of time in there because it never felt like a nice space to be in. Since the addition of the chairs and a fresh lick of paint, we find we’re enjoying a lot more time in there.
The walls were looking bare, so I looked on Pinterest for some inspiration. Here’s the pin I found:
Unfortunately, after trips to many fabric shops, I couldn’t quite find the pattern I wanted. This fabric came close but was cut crooked, which is why the pattern is on its side. I still quite like the idea and am happy with the end result but if I do find a fabric I like better, I’ll replace the current one. All in all, it cost $6 per canvas, $6 for the fabric and $7 for the paint pen. We used the same color that we painted the walls with for the plain canvases, so really, it was such an inexpensive little project.
What have you been up to?
