Little Miss Sunshine

I have had such a lovely week. The twins have been kicking up a storm inside my belly as usual, letting me know that yes, they are definitely in there. I got accepted to write for the Huffington Post and so I am now an official Huffington Post blogger. My first article ‘Pregnancy 101’ even got featured on the Lifestyle page, not too shabby for my first time out.I went to see Roddy Woomble (of Idlewild fame) perform his solo stuff in Hebden Bridge last night and had a fantastic time. The music and performance was amazing and his support band were excellent, especially the violinist who also had a very lush voice. Rob had his hand on my belly at different points of the gig and informed me that the twins were kicking in time to the drums. I believe the twins may make up some of Roddy’s youngest demographic of fans. As a nice treat at the end of the gig I got to have a bit of a chat with Roddy and he was the sweetest guy. After the minute or so of me telling him how much I liked his set and subsequently how much the twins did too (which he seemed to find amusing), he asked me about my pregnancy. He shared his admiration over carrying twins and said he imagined it was difficult enough carrying one let alone two and he talked about how the Idlewild drummer has twins and how they were a bit of handful to start, but that I should not fear as you adapt very quickly. I like it when people share their ‘twin’ stories with me. It was all in all a pretty sweet evening. Anyway here is a short list of things that have made me happy this week:
  1. Feeling my babies moving around & being able to identify which twin is which
  2. Seeing my article published on the Huffington Post (yay me!)
  3. Seeing Roddy Woomble
  4. French toast (yum)
  5. Discovering that I can now curl my hair with straighteners without burning myself (never a bad thing and it has only taken me about 3 years to master *slow learner*)
  6. Knowing that I have only a couple more days to go before my next scan. I can’t wait to see the twins again, and I can’t help wondering if twin 1 is going to behave and let us solve the mystery over the sex.
  7. And again, French toast...seriously, it is lovely!
I have listed links below to my Huffington Post page and my Huffington Post article. My aim is to write for them about once a week so if you like what I write, please keep checking back and leave me comments so I can reply to you all. http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/susie-mcbeth
