Herewith I welcome a new acquisition into my modest collection of pipes. Modesty is relative, being happy is not.
According to the information I have acquired so far, when Edward Burak bought the Connoisseur Pipe Shop in 1968 he sold his pipes without any markings on them. No dots, no logos, no numbers, no letters. It was not until 1974 that he started stamping his pipes.
Last night, at the monthly meeting of the New York City Pipe Club, there were plenty of beautiful words directed towards my pipe, and I enjoyed the very first smoke with it, aware of the fact that it was carved not less than 40 years ago.
