Things are starting to look up for this week. Funny that I say that now that it is Friday. My car is getting fixed tomorrow. A really good friend and mine and Jared's old roommate came to the rescue, those who have been around for a while might remember Laughter. He lived with us for about 3 years and we love him. He is such a caring and amazing guy and he'd do anything to help his friends out. Luckily Laughter is a genius with cars - he's owned his own shop for about 12 year and he offered to come take a look at my car and told me the dudes at Grease Monkey were full of it, I definitely do not need a new caliper. All I need are some new break pads and new rotors. He even offered to do the labor for free so he'll just charge me for parts. This $400 problem turned into a $50 fix. That's really REALLY good news and all the extra money will go toward paying off my credit card.
One good thing about me is that once I commit to something I am going to do everything it takes to make it happen. Also, I'm impatient so I want to make it happen right away. About 2 weeks ago I decided I wanted to pay off my credit card and buy a DSLR camera and I needed to save up about $1,000 to do both of those. I put myself on a strict budget and have been doing a great job at cutting out any unnecessary spending, which has meant that I'm paying off my debt and working toward my goal really quick. I didn't realize how many lunch breaks I took and went to Target or Walmart and spent $30 a few times a week, PLUS I'd get food. That adds up really quickly. I love looking at my bank statement and seeing that I haven't spent any money in 3 days. It just feels like I'm a rockstar.
I only have 2 small updates left.
Shia turns 3 on Sunday! We already have her presents ready and wrapped at home. I can't wait to make her and Indiana some pupcakes and put little hats on their heads. It kind of amazes me that Shia is already turning 3! This time 2 years ago, we had just found out that she had a torn ACL and needed serious surgery. Ugh, I hope that never happens again! Luckily, she's fully recovered now with the exception that we stretch out her leg for her some mornings, because she wakes up and it's just so stiff. Poor baby. I could go on and on about Shia, but I am going to write a birthday post next week, so I'll save it for then!
(This is the night we adopted Shia, she was about 3 months old)
Just kidding, this one is BIG news. Remember Kjerstin?
(yes, she's stunning!)
I knew you remembered! Well she lives a few hours South from me and her husband just got a job up here. She can't move up until school is finished in December... and they needed a place for Shane to stay until then, SOOOO he's moving in! Isn't that fantastic? I love having people stay with us and can't wait to have another body in the house. The more the merrier, as we always say :) I'm really excited to have a house guest. Shia and Indie are excited too, they love Shane.
