She can count up to 13 now, and once made it all the way to 15.
It’s a big deal, she stands tall and points at leaves, at pebbles, at floorboards, at the ducks in the bath, at daisies on the lawn, at peas on her plate, she takes a big breath and points her finger, “ready? ONE TWO THREE … GO” and then she starts;
one
two
three
five
six
seven
eight
nine
ten
‘leven
twelve
and so on …
and four is always missing.
Not sure what she’s got against it but if you see it kicking about anywhere, send it back, we seem to have lost it, or perhaps don’t consider it necessary in the modern world.
