I had such a relaxing weekend. I felt like I could really recuperate from the holiday. I spent most of my time in bed, watching movies, grocery shopping, and cooking. Not all of those were done in bed. Just the movies part.
One of my favorite movies to watch is "Steel Magnolias". Let's recap. It's about women in the south, there are some of the best one liners in the world, and it brings real life lessons to light. All of the actresses are incredible and Dolly's hair? Well, you'll see what I mean.
That is some BSH. Big Southern Hair.
This movie is set in Louisiana, in the crazy 80s. Shelby (Julia Roberts) is getting married and starting her new life as the movie opens up. Shelby's overprotective mother (Sally Fields) experiences a full range of emotions as she lets her daughter go out into the world, a newly married woman. Shelby suffers from diabetes, and it gets rather severe as the story unfolds. All of the women in this movie have experiences that lead them to be stronger, better women. I couldn't help but to relate to all of them at some point. This movie has always made me laugh and cry. It was one that my mother and I would watch every time it was on TV. I can almost quote the entire thing.
Please, please watch this movie! If you do, let me know what you think! I will leave this for now.
Sorry for the poor quality of video, but this was the best I could find. happy Monday y'all! Linking up with Jessica for Smell the Roses.
