Making Life With Chronic Illness Easier With Pharmacy2U
For the past 19 years I've been living with a chronic health condition called Graves Disease.
Graves Disease is an autoimmune disorder that affects the function of the thyroid gland, and I was diagnosed with it when I was 18. Ever since then, I have been on medication to treat it in one form or another.
There are many ways that living with Graves Disease impacts my daily life, from the myriad of symptoms it causes to the daily medications I need to take in order to keep my thyroid functioning at a healthy level.
At the moment I take three different types of medication to control the disease and manage its symptoms - and considering the fact that one of the main symptoms the disease causes for me is poor memory, I can often find it difficult to keep up with it all. Remembering which medications to take at which times, and remembering when each box is due to run out so that I remember to organize the repeat prescription can be a real pain.
Most months, I end up forgetting to order my prescriptions which means I usually end up without my meds for a day or two while I wait for the order to sent through to the pharmacy and sorted out.
I then need to factor a trip to the pharmacy in to my chaotic schedule, which can be a pain in itself - as a home educating parent any trip out means taking the boys too, and you can imagine how much fun it is to drag 3 small children around a pharmacy to wait for a prescription that somehow never seems to be ready!
Last month I was introduced to Pharmacy2U - a website that handles your repeat prescriptions for you, and delivers them to your door.
It was SO quick and easy to register for their service - the website just asked me to enter my postcode details, locate my surgery which only took about 30 seconds to do, and just a few questions later it was all set up!
Within a day, they emailed me to confirm that my repeat prescription service was set up and ready to go - and then, as I always do, I promptly forgot all about it!
So imagine my surprise last week when I received an email one day telling me that my repeat prescription had been received from my GP surgery, and that my meds were on their way! I hadn't even realised that my meds were due to be replenished yet and Pharmacy2U were already on it for me...amazing!

A couple of days later, my medication arrived to my door - with no delivery charge at all! I was amazed at how easy to use and how efficient the service was...it took away all of the usual stress and hassle involved with my medications, and it didn't cost me a penny extra. I just wish I'd known about the service sooner!
I honestly can't recommend Pharmacy2U enough and I will be continuing to use them from now on. You can find out more about the service on their website HERE.
