‘Making Memories’ This Easter with Cupcakes. Yup. Cupcakes.

How was your holiday weekend ?

Where did it go? It went by soooo fast.  Like whiplash fast.  It sped by like a speeding bullet.

That speeding bullet landed in a whole lotta food.   And cupcakes.

‘Making Memories’ this Easter with Cupcakes. Yup. Cupcakes.

I look like Buddha right now.  With a Buddha belly.  I ate THAT much.

Clearly my secret love affair with cupcakes is no longer, well… a secret.  It was Easter weekend, and I consumed cupcakes for breakfast, lunch and dinner.  And a midnight snack too.   Geez Louise.  I think I have a problem.

Cupcake addiction.

‘Making Memories’ this Easter with Cupcakes. Yup. Cupcakes.

This is usually a good time to play the good idea / bad idea game.  Is this cupcake eating a good idea? Or is this a bad idea?

My waistline says : This is a BAD idea

My ‘for-the-love-of-cupcakes-I want em-I want em- I want em‘ brain says : This is definitely a GOOD idea.

The kids made these over- the- top, gorgeous cupcakes this weekend.  Don’t ask me how they did that.  I have no idea.

Inspired by good ol’ BETTY CROCKER.  I wish Betty was my neighbor.  I know I would like her.  I probably wouldn’t trash her lawn.

I could run across the street, in my jammies, with tea in hand and eat cupcakes for breakfast every ~single ~ day.  Does life get better than that ?  I don’t think so.

I am certain that is what Heaven feels like.

Life in jammies and a cupcake in hand.

This is EASTER after all….and my daughter Tristan is

* THE QUEEN OF CUPCAKES *

She has the ability to create cupcake bliss.  She didn’t learn this cupcake skill from me.

Add one drop of food coloring to coconut flakes. How cool is that?

Dangerous combo = Me  + Cupcake Queen Daughter

You can find Tristan on Pinterest here.  She loves to pin cupcakes & other super cool stuff.  She needs some Pinterest following love.  So go follower her.  Right now.  I will wait for you.

I would rather decorate the entire house, before I decorate a cupcake.  That doesn’t seem to hold me back.  NOPE.  It doesn’t stop there.  Unfortunately.   I am a professional cupcake muncher.

How can I resist ?

Chirp Chirp

Seriously, if you can resist, you can teach me a thing or two.  I think it is referred to as willpower.  blah. blah. blah. Willpower is for sissies.

Tristan came for Easter weekend with her University pals *

* It was a great reminder to me that Easter ( and every holiday in between ), is about

FAMILY

FRIENDS

CHILLAXIN’

Bubble gum for 'bunny ears' and ....chewing

When the CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY SEASON rolls around …..

Will someone please remind me of those wise ‘family, friendschillaxin‘ words  ??!!   You can remind me right about the time when I am about to punch the Christmas tree.  Or when I want to deck someone instead of ‘decking the halls’ ??  Tra la la …whatever.  I want to deck someone during Christmas holiday time.  My bad.  Remind me.  At Christmas.  Gently.  Or I will punch you.

Listening Ears

EASTER :

I remind myself that it isn’t about a perfectly clean house.  Kids, friends, family…will remember how you made them feel.  They will remember your words to them.  They won’t remember if there was a fur ball under their bed.  (because I do collect those, unwillingly ). They won’t remember if everything was oh-so-very-perfectly-placed….they will remember making memories.

They will also remember cupcakes.

Psychedelic Bunny

So make some of those for good measure.

Yes, that is a lap top on a school book, beside the cook top, surrounded by flour & BRETT surrounded by it all.

My Dad comes to mind this weekend.  I lost my Dad to cancer.  He would sometimes take the kids berry picking.

He would say “weigh those kids before they start picking the strawberries, because they are going to weigh a lot more when they are done”.

Crack me up !

So, off he would head to the berry farm with the kids.  After they arrived back to Grandma and Grandpa’s , I  would notice that the berry basket had about 3 strawberries left in it.

Me : ” DAD, what did you and the kids do?! ”

DAD : WE MADE MEMORIES

I will take those words with me, for as long as I live.

And make memories.

It is ok that they are cupcake memories.

I could stuff a strawberry in there somewhere.

HAPPY EASTER TO EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU !

What memory did you make this Easter ?
