Making New Travel Plans
As a keen holiday maker, my favorite thing to do at the start of each and every New Year is to sit down and plan our family travel goals for the coming 12 months.
2020 was no different. As I sat there on New Years Eve, fresh new planner in hand, scribbling ideas down excitedly, I couldn't possibly have imagined what the year had in store for us all. Who could have?!
Those 2020 holiday plans, which had been years in the making as this was to be the year we finally took our long-awaited trip to Florida, were soon scuppered.
With the cancellation of Disney World Resorts usual Halloween festivities announced, our mind was finally made up after months of indecision on what to do about our trip - the whole reason we'd chosen to go in October was so that we could go to the Halloween party, so without that on offer we knew we wanted to postpone.  So our hotel and ticket reservations have been moved to 2021, and our flights exchanged for open tickets - looking on the bright side, this means that if all goes to plan I'll be spending my 40th Birthday in Disney World Florida which is actually pretty exciting.
But now that it's all been moved, it leaves me wondering what to do about travel plans for the time in between and I've been regularly browsing holiday deals on the Voyage Privé website
With flight corridors established, and holidays both abroad and at home seemingly back on the table, I've been trying to figure out when and where we'd like to visit over the next year or so.
Part of me would love to try somewhere totally new - we've toyed with the idea of an adults only trip to New York City early next year which is something that's been on the bucket list for a while, and I've also thought how lovely a family trip to Greece would be - somewhere I've always wanted to visit.
But on the other hand, there's something very comforting about familiarity right now.

So with that in mind, I think our plan will be to stick closer to home for the remainder of 2020. I'm thinking of booking a little caravan holiday in Cornwall for around September - we always have a fantastic time in Cornwall, it's been something of a family tradition to spend a week there each year and a big part of the appeal for us is that it's only a couple of hours away.
However, as much as I love holidaying in the UK- I would really love to go abroad early next year.
September 2021 feels just a bit too long to wait, and so I'm sorely tempted to book a trip for earlier in the year too.

At the moment, we're torn between two options - the first being an early Winter trip to Disneyland Paris - we love visiting in January and February as it gives me something to look forward to during that awful post-Christmas lull which always takes such a toll on my mental state, as well as giving us the chance to take advantage of the low winter crowds and amazing offers at that time of year. We could also tie it in with the childrens birthdays too which is always really special.

The second option would be a return to Italy, where we enjoyed our favorite family holiday so far back in September - we loved it so much that we said we'd like to go back for 2 weeks next time, and the children still talk about it at least a few times every week. We all had such a lovely time, and it was such a relaxing trip too.
I'm not sure which we'll go with just yet, but whichever it is - I'm so looking forward to the chance to get back out there and explore.
Will you be taking any holidays in 2020? Do you have travel plans for next year? I'd love to hear about them!
