Most of us Indians born in the 1970s and 80s grew up on a steady diet of watching “Gandhi” the movie on Doordarshan at least twice a year on Independence Day and on Gandhi Jayanthi. That movie in many ways therefore forms the benchmark against which we measure autobiographical movies.
