Maui Getaway

I love Hawaii, it's one of my favorite places on the planet. We are so fortunate to live in California... where we are only a 5 hour plane ride from paradise. This trip, we had nothing on the agenda... except relaxing, eating, and just being together.
When people say February is a great time for whale watching in Hawaii, they aren't kidding.  We were there last February (on Kauai) and saw many... but from Maui, they were jumping just a few hundred yards off shore.  We didn't have to get on a boat to see them.  We saw more than 30 whales, easily, many of them putting on shows for all of the people looking so closely for them.  It was truly amazing!!
It was fun to be there with my big ol' belly...  I was nervous at first, but relaxed after I saw how many pregnant people flock to Hawaii.  TL and I both walked and worked out.  A lot.  I walked at least 3-4 miles everyday, and it sure made it easier for me to splurge on some of the amazing hawaiian desserts - oh my gosh, they're good!  We stayed at a condo with a kitchen, so we were able to make breakfast and lunch - and even made dinner a few of the nights!  We did visit Sansei Sushi for their great early bird sushi special (if you're on Maui - it's really good and the prices are fantastic before 6pm... make reservations, there is a long line!), and we ate dinner at Duke's, Tropica, and an italian place at the hotel called Pulehu.
We are so fortunate to have been able to get away for our last big hurrah before the crazy and amazing life change of this baby girl arriving in our life.  We talked a lot about how much we are looking forward to her arrival and how truly lucky we are.  It was so nice to be together... and the moments we spent doing nothing, playing games (we did a lot of that), or watching the sunset - are some I will always remember.
TL is way out there swimming. playing yahtzee and watching the sunset She looks huge in this picture :) love this guy 28 weeks!
Dinner on our last night in paradise... it was a gorgeous sunset!
Have a beautiful week!
