Since I have a tradition of only doing book reviews on Friday (and the fact that this week’s book review is already written, uploaded, and ready to go) I’ve decided to do my obligatory “may the fourth be with you” star wars post two days early. It’s okay, consider it an extension of the holiday. This does give me the chance to brag on my new favorite cross-stitch pattern store on the internet. They’re called “weelittlestitches” and as far as I can tell only sell on Etsy, but their patterns just make me smile. As you can see from my picture over here <– they have a Star Wars pattern all set for May the Fourth. While these aren’t the most detailed patterns out there, they are relatively cheap, easy to make, and just awesome. In addition to Star Wars patterns they have Star Trek, Dr. Who, Big Bang Theory, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, The Justice League, superhero alphabet, Shaun of the Dead, and all sorts of other ones I didn’t feel like listing. So check them out here!
I also have some work of my own to show you all. I’m making more and more progress yet feel like I’m going nowhere. I’m stuck in that stitching rut that no matter how many stitches I do I never feel like I’m making progress. Eventually it’ll all come together and I’ll have a light bulb moment of “hey look a picture!” but until then it’s very discouraging. This picture doesn’t look much different from last week, but I have done quite a few more stitches. Hundreds probably. It’s starting to take shape…I just don’t feel like it’s getting anywhere nearly as fast as it should be. I’m not having problems with tension anymore. Not because I solved the problem but because I’m not using the black anymore. I just realized this is a rare picture where I didn’t bother to take out my needle and thread trail..well, now you can see how I work. Kind of a mess.
Well I hope you all are having a fantastic week! I only have 8 1/2 days left before I can finally leave school and be home for a while. I applied for some summer jobs today although I’m not sure if I want to get them or not. On one hand I’d really love the income, on the other hand this could be the last time I’ll ever be able to enjoy not having a job. It’s a toss up. Guess I’ll just let the universe solve that question for me now.
And May the Fourth Be With You!
