Hanging out in the blogosphere and reading some lovely Jubilee posts has made me feel slightly more enthusiastic about the whole Jubilee thing, and heeding the call of Kate on thin ice’s blog hop I’m going to answer her questions and find out what I’ve got in common with Queenie, apart from having a very pretty nose that is.

When and where were you born?  What are your middle names?  Who were you named after?

31st March, 1972 in Nuneaton. Middle name Kerry, named after no-one in particular.

Was there an event in your childhood that set your destiny on an unexpected course?  How did you deal with it?

Yes, my uncle resigned from his job to be with the woman he loved and daddy had to take over the family firm. No, actually that’s a fib, nothing really.

What is your experience of public-speaking, if any?  How do you feel about it?

If talking to classes, whole school, parents counts, then quite a bit. Don’t mind it actually, although I prefer to be prepared and know what I’m talking about if possible..

What was your first day at work like?

In at the deep end, is there any other way?

Who did you team up with or marry?  What was it that attracted you to them?

My husband, a holiday romance. Attracted by the fact he was French and sexy, and that we didn’t speak the same language.

How many children did you have and when and where were they born?

Girl 1999 and Boy 2003

Have you ever had any claim to fame or celebrity status?  Have you ever appeared on the telly?

No.

What scandal has rocked your family?

Erm, none really. One of my cousins became an accountant but we don’t really talk about it.

Are you a grandparent?  How do you feel about becoming one?

Eldest child is twelve so feel it’s a little early just yet.

Have you ever being the victim of crime?  How did it affect you?

Not that I can remember.

Have you ever had a horrible year where everything seemed to go wrong?  When was it?  What happened?

No horrible annus for me, some times are better than others, but not a whole year thankfully.

What did you do that surprised people most?

Probably run a marathon, it certainly surprised me!

What does the internet mean to you?  How do you use it?

Would it be really sad to say it’s up there with oxygen inn my priorities? I buy, read and learn on the internet for a few hours every day, saying that, when we go on holiday I enjoy a few weeks’ cold turkey.

When was the moment in your life when you felt life was exactly as it should be?

Most of the time I’m pleased to say.

So, to conclude, I have to say I have absolutely nothing in common with our marvelous monarch, apart from us both marrying foreigners lacking in diplomatic skills.
