How can we possibly be at the end of May?! Like what is going on with 2016..! It's been a great year for us so far, but wow have the days flown by! Time flies when you're having fun I suppose!
It's mad to think that I remember packing for Walt Disney World so clearly, because that was back in February. I can't believe it was that far away already to be honest. And then when we came home we sort of bounced straight into our loft conversion and our redecoration of our bedrooms. The loft conversion has ended now and we're just finishing off the building of new furniture and things like that. I can't believe that we're through it and that our dark, dingy attic that I had never before stepped foot in is now our bright, open bedroom - the place we sleep and take our showers in our new end-suite.
It hasn't hit us yet, but having a 4 bedroom house in the area we love will soon register with us, probably when it's all done and pretty and when we're sitting back relaxing and just looking at it rather than muddling our way through boxes and mountains of piles of clothes.
This month we wanted to take our family photo on our bed in our new conversion space. It had to be that photo really - we needed something that would perfectly sum up on our month.
Asides from the loft conversion being finished, we've enjoyed lots of sunny weather. We've taken moments when we've not been crazy busy to get out and enjoy the sun, but we're looking forward to being able to take more days and moments out when we just sit and enjoy the outdoors again as a family. Being busy has meant Adam and I have had to sacrifice time together, which is okay because that's what you need to do when you want to renovate your house. But we're looking forward to getting to be together more again and making time for date nights and such as my brother and his girlfriend have offered to babysit on a Wednesday evening every other week for us.
May has been a month for mixed emotions, we've been stressed, sad, happy, excited and every other emotion you could possibly have. But we're ending May happy. Really happy. We're feeling positive and grateful and we're looking forward to getting some sort of routine back so that we can better find moments to relax and enjoy what almost feels like our brand new family home.
