Of course this months photo had to be in a pumpkin patch...are you even a blogger if you don't take the obligatory pumpkin patch photo?!
The pumpkin patch in Lifton has become a real staple in our calendar year, something I really look forward as for me our visit signifies the start of my very favorite time of year...yes I know most people now are mourning the loss of the Summer with its warm weather and lighter evenings, but for me October-December is absolutely my favorite time.
I love Halloween, I love bonfire night, and I LOVE LOVE LOVE Christmas...which I believe begins on December 1st and lasts until January 2nd!! The decorations go up in our house the second December hits and the festive days out and Christmas tunes begin...I just can't get enough of it!
October feels like the first step toward all of that magic, and with my children being such huge fans of anything spooky and strange...Halloween gets them all excited, which of course gets me excited too.
I love the dark cosy evenings spend snuggled together under blankets on the sofa watching films, and I love the excuse for plenty of warming Starbucks drinks (pumpkin spice latters and festive Christmas cups give me life!) and lovely slow cooked autumnal meals.
So basically yes...Autumn & Winter are the best time of year for me! (Well...except for January which I dread with every fiber of my being...but thats another story!)
October has been a rather hectic month around here, as we spent the first 14 days of it on our cruise holiday around the Med...visiting Italy, Spain, Portugal, Gibraltar and the South of France and since returning home we've had lots of Halloween-related days out over Half term...all while I've been trying desperately to recover from the nasty bout of Shingles I developed half way through September (hence no Me & Mine post last month!)
I'm still not fully recovered as I still have shingles in my right eye, I REALLY hope that by the time I'm writing our November update it's finally buggered off!
I hope that we can enjoy a bit of a calmer, slower paced November...but given the fact that we're off to Disneyland Paris in a couple of weeks time, I doubt thats likely to be the case! Things are always all go around here!
