Melting Moments Monday- Hey, She’s My Mummy

Posted on the 24 September 2012 by Meltingmoments

I have posted before about the reaction from my twins, especially B2, when hubby and I cuddle or kiss or show each other affection. This is still going on and it is pretty funny to us.

Yesterday I had a well deserved and well needed day to myself. Hubby had B1 and B2 all day and I went gallivanting around town. I first went to Cronulla and had a lovely walk along the esplanade. Then I had a look through all my favorite shops in the mall. Next I headed off to Miranda Fair, where I decided that I couldn’t wait any longer and got my hair cut (this had been a long time coming). Then I wandered the shops (one of my absolute favorite past times before kids. I had a relaxing lunch with no children jumping on me and I sat and had a lovely cup of tea and finished it before it went cold. Of course, the whole day I continually thought of what was going on at home but the break was just what I needed.

Anywho, when I returned that afternoon I was the best thing since sliced bread to the twins and I have to say, it felt good.

Lately it has been Daddy that they want, particularly B2. If he is upset he wants daddy. He is sick he wants daddy. He wants anything, well you guessed it he wants daddy to do it for him or get it for him. Some might say this is a great thing, but I had started missing the fact that he has always been a mummy’s boy. And it makes it hard when he won’t eat for me or let me change his nappy or settle for me if he wakes.

All afternoon it was me they wanted. They did almost anything I asked and wanted lots of mommy cuddles.

This morning after an early wake up hubby and I were sitting on the lounge contemplating me starting breakfast and hubby having a shower, when hubby leaned over for a hug. B2 marched straight over to us and pushed my hubby off me and then climbed up onto my lap. The whole time looking at his daddy as if to say ‘What do you think you’re doing?’

He soon hopped down and started to play again but every time hubby tried to cuddle me or give me a kiss B2 was straight over like a flash, pushing him off and climbing onto my lap.

My husband and I were amused by this. Especially considering he hadn’t wanted me for much over the last few weeks.

Hubby then said ‘See it’s only me they want because I am something new when I come home from work. You are here all day with them.’

Of course I know he’s right, but I couldn’t help feeling unwanted. The feeling of now being wanted again and so badly, melted my heart.

I told hubby that it seems I am going to have to go out for the day more often!! :-)
