Hi and welcome to our first Melting Moments Monday Linky Party!
Melting Moments Monday has been around for a while, with Kaz and I posting our favorite Melting Moment of the week each Monday. We have decided to turn this into a link up for everyone to share their personal stories of the priceless moments that they experience with their kids.
It can be easy to focus on the hard and trying moments we experience sometimes as we try to make it through the day. So this is our chance to focus on, remember and share the wonderful moments, as big or as little as they may be.
My Melting Moment this week is something that may sound small to others but to me and the effect it has on my everyday life it is huge.
B1 and B2 have started playing with each other a little more these days. They also still fight and want the same toys as each other just as much as they always have. This week the few times B2 has hurt his sister I have really tried to make him realize he had done something wrong and to feel some empathy towards her when she is upset.
It has taken a few goes but at least three times this week he has showed a little understanding. As I cuddle and soothe B1, B2 watches with a shy little look on his face knowing he did something wrong and he has started coming over and touching her on her back as she cries. I sit there saying ‘aww that’s nice. Say sorry to your sister. We can all be friends…’ and words along those lines. He has started coming over and lying his head down on her as I talk and patting her, trying to cuddle her. It is very cute. Yesterday I said ‘Hold hands, we are all friends again’ and he reached down and took her hand in his as he cuddled her. It was the most heart melting moment as they held hands and cuddled each other.
Of course they were fighting again five minutes later but it’s a start right?!
