Melting Moments Monday – Sunshine and Ice-blocks

Posted on the 01 October 2012 by Meltingmoments

Sunshine, laughter and friendship. It doesn’t get much better. Friday was hot. 32˚c hot. This called for some fun in the sun. We invited some of our friends over for a toddler pool party. Last Summer, we bought a big kiddy pool. It didn’t get a lot of use because we had a lousy Summer that never seemed to heat up. A quick check of the forecast was all it took for me to get rummaging around in hubby’s little shed to get the pool out and up ready for our play date.

When all of our friends arrived it was time for the mums to catch up and for the bubbas to let loose. They had a ball in the pool, playing on the slide and with the sand/water table. When she wasn’t splashing in the pool, Dora was mostly to be found amongst the fruit trees or under the deck of the house. I cringed at the thought of what lurked in those dark corners of our yard. She may have even showed B1 and B2 how to get up to mischief down the side of the house.

In between dips in the pool, the bubbas enjoyed what was for some, their first ice block. It was Dora’s first ice block experience and she was intrigued and refreshed. It was a cute site seeing ice block dripping down their little faces and also not wanting to miss any action. We had some ice block eating slippery-dippers.

After a great day, as we were packing up a storm rolled through and cooled us down.

It was a melt-worthy day, in more ways than one :)
