I have been Blog Surfing.
It is of no surprise that there are an enormous number interesting, diverse, weird (and truly weird) blogs beyond the world of Gardening Blogs. I came across a post called Blog Tag: Oh Meme is Me! on a blog called “Tale Spinning” . The title caught my eye so I read on and I thought it would be a fun thing to do. He was tagged by Flash fiction another blog I am definitely going to follow and would recommend.
The idea is to answer a series of questions and then tag other bloggers to do the same.
I won’t do the tagging bloggers bit, as a newbie blogger myself, I don’t know others well enough to do that. However, if you want to answer the questions and add a link back here, please do, it will be great fun to learn a bit more about you.
So, the questions are:-
1. If you could go back in time and relive one moment, what would it be?
I would like to go back to the 19th Century and meet my Great Grandfather, Thomas Taylor. He had three wives (two died, one out lived him) and between them they bore him 15 children, sadly 5 died when very small. I have photos of him and he’s an archetypal Victorian gentleman. I have traced the family tree for several years and Thomas is on my maternal side. It is so frustrating because I can’t get beyond his birth in 1841. You have no idea how many Thomas Taylor’s were born in Liverpool in 1841!! I want to ask him if he had any siblings and where his parents came from.
2. If you could go back in time and change one thing, what would it be?
I would make my marriage work and still be with the man I married in 1975. Not much more to be said on this one. We both grew into different people and in different directions – not good ingredients for a long-lasting marriage. You need some cohesion to make a relationship work. Just my opinion, of course.
3. What movie/TV character do you most resemble in personality?
Tough one this! We don’t see ourselves as others see us, and whoever I choose, people who know me will say “Nooooo, never!” However, one of my closest friends who knows me warts and all has suggested Bridget Jones and I guess she is just about right. Although I am not called “Miss Marple” at work for nothing, give me something to find/get to the bottom of and I will find it – investigation is my forte.
4. Name one habit you want to change in yourself.
Throughout my life, school reports and work appraisals have said different versions of the same thing “She is her own worst enemy”. I get fed up with things too quickly and throw the towel in. This is especially true in relationships and probably why I am still living on my own.
5. Describe yourself in one word.
Tenacious
6. If you could push one person off a cliff and get away with it, who would it be?
As this meme is only for fun and theoretical… I hope! Also the person pushed off the cliff must survive unhurt. On that proviso, I would probably push Max Clifford off the cliff. I find him quite unpalatable.
7. Why do you blog? (In one sentence)
I enjoy writing and sharing my thoughts, my ideas and my garden (my other blog) and seeing that people are reading my posts.
